That's a good point that patients often have only a vague idea of what they want done - they just want to look "younger" or "less tired". Of course, there are also patients who have researched specific procedures or seen an advertisement and think they know exactly what they want done. In either case, a plastic surgeon still has to make that final judgment call about what will actually work. Convincing a patient who has his/her heart set on a specific technique that another approach would actually work better takes some diplomacy, that's for sure.
